Text message notifications
How service appointment texts work, and how to stop them.
SmartBuildOS is field service software used by smart home, audio/video and low-voltage integration companies to schedule and dispatch service visits. When one of those companies books a visit for you, SmartBuildOS sends the text messages about it on their behalf. The message always names the company you hired, because it arrives from a SmartBuildOS number rather than theirs: (251) 727-6278. Save that number as SmartBuildOS if you want to recognise it.
What you receive
- A confirmation when your service visit is scheduled, with the date and arrival window.
- A notice if that visit is moved or cancelled.
- A notice when your technician is on the way, with an estimated arrival time.
These are transactional messages tied to your own appointment. They are never marketing, and there are no recurring or bulk sends. Frequency varies by appointment, typically two to four messages per visit.
How you consent
There are three ways, and each requires you to actively agree. Consent is never assumed.
On this page
Enter your mobile number below and tick the box beneath it. The box stays locked until a number is entered, and its wording names that number — so the number and the permission are one record, given together. Press Confirm and it is stored with the exact words you agreed to. When the company you hired adds that number to your client record, your consent is already on it.
On the client form
When a company adds you as a client, they enter your mobile number on the client form and the same checkbox sits directly beneath it, reading that field the same way. It is unchecked by default and must be ticked deliberately.
On the phone
If you book by phone, the person taking your booking reads you the same disclosure and confirms the mobile number to use. Only if you say yes do they enter that number and tick the box, and the record stores who took your agreement and when.
Technicians are employees of these companies. They consent to job assignment texts during onboarding, when their mobile number is added to their employee record.
How to stop them
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help. You can also ask the company that booked your visit to remove your consent, which stops the messages immediately.
Opting out of texts does not affect your service. You will still be contacted about your appointment by phone or email.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. SmartBuildOS does not charge you for these messages.
